The Lobster Trap has been serving locals and visitors to the Mount Washington Valley since 1958. That’s 52 years! The Trap was founded by a native gentleman named Henry Thompson, born circa 1899. Henry loved living in the valley, but he also loved fresh lobster and decided that it would be easier to bring the little lobsters to North Conway, rather than figuring out how to make the land mass between Mount Washington and the coast of Maine part of the Atlantic. Henry’s penchant for fresh seafood and lobster, coupled with his innate creativity and brilliance led him to design, develop and construct a bio-filter and particulate filter that, when implemented, mimics the conditions found in the pristine waters off the coast of Maine.
